Welcome to enchanting mermaid swimming! Mermaid swimming is a fun and adventurous way to swim. At the Hoornse Vaart swimming pool in Alkmaar, you can take part in a course to learn the basics of swimming with a tail. After successfully completing the course, you can progress to the advanced lessons, where you will learn even more about swimming as a mermaid or merman.
The lessons are suitable for children aged 7 and over who hold swimming certificates A and B. Children aged 10 and older with only certificate A are also welcome. The maximum age for participants in this course is 11 due to the size of the available tails.
The course is taught by experienced instructors who will teach you all the tips and tricks to move through the water like a mermaid or merman. All you need is swimwear and a towel. During the basic course you will learn to swim like a real mermaid or merman. You will learn how to move smoothly through the water, how to put on a tail and make beautiful strokes. You will also learn tricks such as the mermaid corkscrew! And once you have successfully completed all the lessons, you will even receive a wonderful certificate!
