Sports Benefit Subscription

Do you swim or ice skate regularly? Or would you like to discover both sports? Then consider the Sports Advantage Subscription! With this annual subscription, you can swim and ice skate for a year at reduced (cheaper) rates at the Hoornse Vaart swimming pool, De Hout swimming pool, and the De Meent ice rink. In addition, there are regular fun extras for Alkmaar Sport subscription holders.

How does it work?

As a season ticket holder, you get a Sports Pass from Alkmaar Sport (a plastic transponder pass), which gives you access to the swimming pool or the ice rink. This pass costs just a one-off €6 and is available at the cash desk of ice rink De Meent, swimming pool Hoornse Vaart or swimming pool De Hout. The pass will be created for you on the spot.

TIP: Making the pass at reception is considerably faster if you have created an account in advance at https://sportpasalkmaarsport.recreatex.be/. Just let them know at the checkout that you have created an account and we will link the details to the new pass. Remember your login details. You can use these to renew your subscription online yourself or put credit on your pass.

Already have a Sportpas from Alkmaar Sport? Then you can of course use that for this Sport Voordeel Subscription as well. 

Sport economically!

The Sports Benefit Subscription is a personal annual subscription. Once you have purchased this subscription, you pay a reduced (cheaper) rate for the ice rink and swimming pools. You can pay for your entry at the cash desk or directly at the turnstiles using the credit on your Sports Pass. Another benefit: this saves you from waiting at the cash desk!

The rates for season ticket holders this year (1 Sept 2025 to 1 Sept 2026) are:

• De Hout Swimming Pool: £1.60 per person per visit.
• Hoornse Vaart Swimming Pool: €2.15 per person per visit (via turnstile), €2.40 at the ticket office.
• De Meent Ice Rink: €2.90 per person per visit.

The Sports Advantage Subscription costs €55.50 for adults and €32.75 for persons under 18 years of age. A subscription is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

To have the reduced admission fee deducted directly at the turnstiles, you first need to top up your pass with credit. This can be done at the ticket counter or online with an amount of your choice. You can also add credit to your Sports Pass online using your previously linked login details, with a fixed amount of €10 per transaction. You can also renew your subscription online. Prepare yourself for a year full of sporting highlights!

Good value? A worked example

After how many times swimming/ice skating is the Sports Advantage Subscription cheaper than a single ticket?

• Hoornse Vaart Swimming Pool: after 16 times (till) and after 15 times (turnstile): (excluding sports pass)
• De Hout Swimming Pool: after 16 times (excluding sport pass)
• De Meent Ice Rink: after 13 times (excluding sports pass)
• Either after 8 times ice skating & 7 times swimming or 7 times ice skating & 8 times swimming. After all, with a single subscription you can work out at both gyms at the reduced rate.

Renew subscriptions?

Do you want to renew your multi-ride ticket or Sport Advantage subscription? You can easily do this online. When you log into your account, you will find it under my profile, afterwards history & reports and then my subscriptions the subscriptions on your card.

Discounts for low and middle incomes 

Residents of Alkmaar with an income of up to 120% of the applicable social assistance standard are eligible for a discount on the subscription. If you are entitled to the free AlkmaarPas, you will receive a discount on the Sport Voordeel Subscription in the form of a digital ticket. When purchasing your Sport Voordeel Subscription at the ticket office of the swimming pool or ice rink, have your pass scanned and the voucher will be deducted from your pass. The membership will then cost €8.75 (€4.60 for those aged 17 and under); a Sportpas costs a one-off fee of €1.
