Swimming is cool: WaterWijs with school!

Swimming is fun, healthy and a skill that children will benefit from for the rest of their lives. That is why Alkmaar Sport offers with Swimming is cool a versatile swimming programme for pupils in years 5, 6, 7 and 8.

With five different water themes, pupils discover a different side of swimming and moving in the water:

Schools can choose one or more themes. Even better: come back every school year for a new theme. This way, pupils continue to gain new skills and experiences, and can experience all aspects of Swim is cool during their primary school years.

Recreational splashing

Alongside Save your Little Friend, we also offer recreational swimming for schools. During this time, the children can enjoy recreational swimming and play in the water, whether or not in combination with survival swimming or a snorkel clinic. During the survival swimming course, the children learn various survival techniques in the water, whilst the snorkelling clinic gives them the chance to explore the underwater world.

Outdoor Triathlon

For teachers looking for the perfect sports day for their pupils, we offer, in partnership with Outdoorpark Alkmaar, a fully organised Outdoor Triathlon on at the Hoornse Vaart sports complex. Over a time span of approximately 3 hours, multiple classes can start this challenging activity in different time slots.

Schools can also contact the Hoornse Vaart swimming pool in Alkmaar for a bespoke programme. Examples include the Star Project or the Girls' Day.
