Swimming proficiency for every pupil: ‘Swim is cool’

In the Netherlands, swimming safety is a must, and with the ‘Swim is cool’ programme, primary school children get the opportunity to further develop their swimming skills. This innovative initiative focuses on pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 and offers five inspiring themes: Rescue your Friend, The Sea, Swimming Sport, ASM (Athletic Skills Model) and Recreational Swimming. Each theme combines fun and education, so that children not only learn to swim, but also build self-confidence in and around the water. Take part in ‘Swim is cool’ and help children enter the water safely, skillfully and full of fun!

Recreational splashing

Alongside Save your Little Friend, we also offer recreational swimming for schools. During this time, the children can enjoy recreational swimming and play in the water, whether or not in combination with survival swimming or a snorkel clinic. During the survival swimming course, the children learn various survival techniques in the water, whilst the snorkelling clinic gives them the chance to explore the underwater world.

Outdoor Triathlon

For teachers looking for the perfect sports day for their pupils, we offer, in partnership with Outdoorpark Alkmaar, a fully organised Outdoor Triathlon on at the Hoornse Vaart sports complex. Over a time span of approximately 3 hours, multiple classes can start this challenging activity in different time slots.

Schools can also contact the Hoornse Vaart swimming pool in Alkmaar for a bespoke programme. Examples include the Star Project or the Girls' Day.
