Instruction pool

The instruction pool at the Hoornse Vaart swimming pool in Alkmaar is ideal for small children. The pool is shallow and therefore perfect for getting used to the water and learning the basics of swimming. Our mascot, Freddy Fit, can be clearly seen around the pool to ensure a fun swimming experience. On Sundays, the instruction pool is open for recreational swimming, where children and parents can enjoy the water together.

Experience Centre during the school holidays

During the school holidays, the instruction pool is transformed into an Experience Center for the little ones. Here, children can let off steam on the climbing and scrambling equipment and get acquainted with the water in a playful way. Outside of the holidays, the Experience Center is used during children's first swimming lessons. In this way, they can become water confident in a fun and relaxed manner and increase their enjoyment of swimming.

The water in the training pool is delightfully warm with a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. This way, the children can feel comfortable in the water and focus fully on learning their swimming skills.
