Lane swimming
Lane swimming is the ideal way to work on your fitness and improve your swimming skills, and it can all be done at the Hoornse Vaart swimming pool in Alkmaar. The 50-metre pool is at certain times...
Parent and child swimming is not only good for a child's development, but also for the bond between parent and child. Being active together in the water ensures a relaxed atmosphere and creates a bond of trust. It is a wonderful way to enjoy the water together and get to know each other in a different way.
The warm water has a positive influence on the child's development, because water provides a lower resistance than air. This allows children to move more easily in the water and stimulates their motor skills. In addition, during Parent and Toddler Swimming, a lot of attention is paid to practising breathing. This can contribute to your child's safety in the water and can also help to build more self-confidence when swimming later on.
Parent and toddler swimming takes place in the instruction pool and is supervised by an experienced swimming instructor. The lesson lasts 30 minutes and afterwards the children and their parents/guardians can play for a bit in the water playground. For babies from 13 weeks to 1 year old, there is the programme Parent and baby swimming. This programme focuses specifically on the development of the very youngest children. So come on down to the Hoornse Vaart swimming pool and discover the benefits of parent and toddler swimming!
