Outdoorpark Alkmaar is offering a varied range of sporty and adventurous activities for young and old alike this summer holiday. The programme includes the Outdoor Sports Day, the Outdoor 2-Day Event with Obstacle Run, Obstacle Fun and the new activity where you can play and climb freely. After all these activities, participants can take a refreshing dip in the adjacent Hoornse Vaart swimming pool for just €2. There is something for every adventurer to experience. More information and tickets can be found via www.outdoorparkalkmaar.nl/activiteiten-zomervakantie.
The summer holiday at Outdoorpark Alkmaar kicks off on Saturday 12 July with the Outdoor Sports Day for children aged 6 to 14. During this day, participants can enjoy climbing, scrambling and sporty games. Afterwards, the children can cool off nicely in the swimming pool. The 2-Day Outdoor Event, specially for children aged 8 to 14, takes place on 14 and 15 July or 16 and 17 July. Here, participants learn archery, survival skills and take part in a challenging Obstacle Run which concludes the programme on 18 July.
This year, Outdoorpark Alkmaar is introducing the new activity ‘free play and climbing’, giving children the freedom to create their own adventures in the park. “This is completely new for our park and it offers children a unique opportunity to decide for themselves what they want to do,” says Tom Leering, coordinator at Outdoorpark Alkmaar. “It is the perfect way to stimulate children's creativity and self-reliance while they are active outdoors.”
For those who love short, intense challenges, there is Obstacle Fun. An hour-and-a-half session full of climbing, scrambling and racing through water. Available in July and August, this programme is ideal for children aged 8 to 12 looking for an adventurous time. “The aim is to give everyone the chance to discover and have fun, regardless of whether it’s their first time or not,” says Leering.
